HELIX alpha holds regular meetings between its Investment & Risk Committee and Advisory Board throughout the year, complemented by an annual in-person session. The most recent meeting took place in Hamburg.
The session focused on reviewing and further refining the core premises of HELIX alpha’s investment strategy. Particular emphasis was placed on the continued focus on both emerging and established life science clusters across Europe as the foundation for disciplined investment allocation.
Interdisciplinary perspective
The Advisory Board brings together expertise across the full Life Science Real Estate value chain, including:
Life science and occupier perspective
Biotechnology expertise
European Life Science Cluster knowledge
Academic expertise in Corporate Real Estate and occupier strategy
This interdisciplinary setup ensures that investment decisions are assessed beyond a pure real estate perspective, incorporating user requirements, technical feasibility and long-term sector dynamics.

Strategic feedback and development
The Advisory Board explicitly supported HELIX alpha’s cluster-driven investment approach and its initial focus on core assets within established ecosystems.
At the same time, the discussion encouraged a selective extension of the strategy towards value-add opportunities, where HELIX alpha can leverage its sector-specific expertise, particularly in the repositioning and development of specialised life science assets.
Governance approach
While the Investment & Risk Committee retains full responsibility for investment decisions, the Advisory Board provides structured challenge and strategic guidance, particularly with regard to:
Risk assessment across the asset lifecycle
Cluster and market positioning
Alignment with institutional investor requirements
The annual in-person session forms a central element of HELIX alpha’s governance framework and supports the continuous refinement of its pan-European LSRE strategy.
